Born in 1960 to Enrique Alexander and Alejandra Perez in the burrow of Queens was Michael Alexander. Michael's father Enrique was very lucky to have made a fortune through real estate development. For High School Michael went to the Lawrenceville School a private institution in New Jersey. Being the only hispanic and one of the few minorities, Michael faced some racism from his peers. However, Michael found a place where he belonged when he joined the young democrats club. He would go on to graduate valedictorian. However, instead of going to college Michael joined the Navy. During his second year in the Navy the Gulf war started and he quickly rose through the ranks due to his skill and work ethic. After he was honorably discharged he went to college at Yale. During the last year of the Coche administration the job for chief of staff opened up and Michael took it.Michael soon decided to run for Mayor of New York City. His military experience and with a grasp on the Latino vote, Michael was able to win with 56% of the vote. Due to his fathers health he decided not to run again and care for his father. Following his father's death Michael ran for US senate and won with a comfortable 58% of the vote and was re-elected with 57% of the vote in 2002. He was offered a position at DOJ to be Deputy Secretary of Defense and urge by President Obama to take the job. In 2012 Michael published his book . It touched on the belief that the American dream is not dead, and giving back to your community. With the upcoming Gubernatorial election it is rumored Michael will run.
